About the Foundation
The Schoenfeld Foundation was established in 2015 by Isabelle “Chicky” Rauch to promote education and appreciation of botany and the environment. Chicky grew up on a family farm in Ottsville, Pennsylvania where she developed a life-long passion for interacting with and preserving the land. She established this Foundation to carry on the legacy of her parents’ great appreciation and respect of nature. Predominantly through the making of grants and the utilization of the Schoenfeld Family Farm as a teaching ground, the Foundation aims to foster and support the study of botany and the preservation of the environment.
Our Mission
The Schoenfeld Foundation strives to promote botany education and the preservation of the natural environment. The Foundation aims to do this predominantly through the making of yearly grants to non-profit organizations who’s missions mirror its own. In addition, the Foundation plans to utilize the Schoenfeld Family Farm as a centerpiece for the Foundation and a place where plants and trees can thrive and students and scientists can study and develop new ways to interact with the land.
